DAVID THACKER BAND

David Thacker has been writing and playing music in Austin since 2007. In 2019 David played over 150 gigs and has performed over 1,000 times in his career.

 His primary group is the David Thacker Band, but he is also asked to perform with many respected bands around Central Texas.

David regularly performs in Austin and surrounding areas but plays in Houston, College Station, and other areas as well. In 2019, he spent a week performing around Costa Rica with a group of other Austin musicians.

When David is not writing or performing he spends time providing private and group music lessons for a local music school. During the 2020 pandemic, David developed processes teaching music virtually that were praised by a chain national music school.

Though David’s passion and vocation are music, he graduated from Texas State University with a Masters of Science in Biochemistry.
