Pushing the boundaries of pop music, Austin-based band Slomo Drags “know how to twist a seemingly simple riff or lyric into a mind-bending display of musicianship” (KUTX). The quartet is comprised of Jackson Albracht (lead vocals, guitar, keys), Alex Ogle (drums, vox), Adam Mason (bass, keys, vox), and Mari Rubio (guitar). Growing up in San Antonio, Jackson and Mari played in other bands, but it wasn’t until they relocated to Austin and hooked up with Alex and Adam in 2016 that Slomo Drags was conceived. A distinctively bubbly stage presence paired with whip-smart lyrical wit forged their place in the Texas music scene and beyond. The Austin Chronicle hailed Slomo Drags a “demented pop splendor”. Their inspirations include Elliott Smith, Of Montreal, and the Beach Boys. Their full-length album Twin Absorber, co-produced by Danny Reisch (The Bright Light Social Hour, Shearwater, Erika Winnestrom, Tele Novella) and Matt Parmenter (Chrysta Bell, Quiet Company) was released in Spring 2022 via Spaceflight Records.

Born from New York City night clubs and raised in the Texas heat, Cooke brings fresh life to a bustling scene, in a city heralded as the blues Mecca. The Austin based quartet all hail from different corners of the globe, but come together to create a fiery brand of contemporary blues-rock with a soulful swagger, highlighted by a tireless work ethic. The stage is their home and the soulful blues-rockers bring the heat, reigning over bars and dimly lit corners across the city and beyond. The four have electrified audiences across central Texas, garnering comparisons to Black Keys, Kaleo and even fellow Austinite Gary Clark Jr.

Cooke is currently in the studio with Jason Burt aka Electrophunck (John Mayer, Leon Bridges, Paul Cauthen) working on their Texas debut due out 2022.
